What is StockPress?
StockPress is another plugin by your favorite plugin writer. Our friend at the The Disciplined Investor had a need to support RSS2 tags useful to the people blogging about Stock Market activity. So we created the StockPress plugin, which adds full support for the FinancialContent tags in the RSS feed, and several stock quote options, such as mouse overs, links to stock quotes.

Current Features

  • Full support for the FinancialContent tags in the RSS feed.
  • Support for a [Stock:] tag that causes StockPress to automatically link to stock quotes, and adds mouse over stock quote with graph as well as the aidditional RSS tags for FinancialContent.
  • Auto-detection of predefined Company names as virtual [Stock:] tags

Upcoming features

  • more configuration options
  • Stock quote sidebar widget
  • Market Watch ticker sidebar widget
  • Top 10 Symbol quotes sidebar widget
  • Import features for the auto converts list

Is StockPress free?
No. StockPress is currently priced at $99 for the current version and all upgrades for 1 year. When I finish a few more features and I feel like its fully up to my demanding standard, I will be increasing the price to $129.

Screen Shots
When editing your post just put in a predefined company, like Microsoft in this example, or use the [stock:] tag. You can also use the Stock Details section to indicate the Topics, Sectors and Industry as desired by the
RSS spec.

Now your blog posts will automatically link to a stock quote.

A mouseover shows current stock quote and chart as a popup.

Your RSS feed will now have the
FinancialContent tags which helps various data resources to have more specific and accurate data from your blog.

You can define Company names to Stock Symbols for auto conversion
which creates virtual [stock:] tags.
